Numbers tell what we do, people tell who we are

Merlo is an internationally recognized industrial leader, with figures that speak to growth, innovation, and stability. But how do you turn these results into a story that attracts new talent? The challenge wasn't to create a standard corporate video, but to build an authentic employer branding narrative that shows what truly makes the company unique: the people who drive its success every day.

INSIGHT

Behind every corporate metric there is a person. Behind every result are skills, experience, responsibility, and collaboration.

Challenge.

How do you convey the strength of a major industrial player without turning it into just another impersonal company? How do you convince professionals and young talent that it is possible to find innovation, growth, and opportunity without losing touch with the local community?

Proposition.

We developed a concept that flips the traditional corporate narrative: the numbers show the scale of the company, but the people tell its story. An emotional video where data, facilities, technology, and results become the starting point for putting the faces, skills, and stories that make it all possible at the center.

IDEATION

Giving numbers a face

The entire strategic concept was born from an in-depth analysis of the target audience and their professional aspirations. On one hand, the desire to work for a solid, innovative company; on the other, the search for a human environment where they feel valued and can grow professionally.

We transformed these insights into a narrative that goes beyond traditional institutional communication. Corporate data is not used for self-congratulation, but as a narrative tool to highlight the value of the people who make those results possible.

From this reflection came the strategic concept that guides the entire project: “Numbers tell you what we do. People tell you who we are.” A simple yet powerful message that encapsulates the company culture and guides every creative and narrative choice.

PRODUCTION

A story built on people

To give the message impact, we chose a cinematic style that alternates between the industrial scale of the company and the daily lives of the people who experience it.
A key narrative choice was to build a visual contrast between an intentionally more sterile and impersonal first part, where the focus seems to be on spaces, machinery, and production processes, and a second part where the people who bring these environments to life gradually emerge.

A visual device that runs throughout the film and concretely translates the project's core concept: behind every process, every technology, and every result, there are always the people who make them possible.

Special attention was paid to the narrative component through the voice-over, which serves as the thread of the story. The film’s conclusion intentionally breaks the traditional mold: the narrator gives way to the company's actual employees, who deliver the final message, turning it into a collective and authentic statement.

DISTRIBUTION

Employer branding

The video was designed as a strategic employer branding tool, intended to support Merlo in its efforts to attract and develop talent.

Through an emotional tone and a people-centered narrative, the content communicates the company culture immediately, strengthening the brand's positioning as an innovative, solid organization with deep roots in its local area.

An asset designed to work across multiple touchpoints, from recruiting activities to corporate events, and from digital channels to initiatives dedicated to human capital development, helping to make tangible what often remains invisible: the people who help the company grow every day.
